Welcome to Braddock Music!

Chris Braddock plays guitar and several of its cousins, including the dobro, mandolin and oud. He performs regularly as a solo artist and as a member of several Delaware and Pennsylvania groups, including Mosaic String Duo, Meryl & The Magnetics, Pegasus Trio and Second Opinion Jazz Duo.

These ensembles showcase a wide range of musical styles, including classical chamber works, jazz standards from many decades, and folk music from home and abroad. Performances in these various settings often include both classics from those various genres, as well as original compositions by Chris and his colleagues.

On his own and as part of various ensembles, Chris has performed in concerts, private receptions, festivals, weddings and other events at more than 80 of the most popular sites in the Brandywine Valley. Chris is proud of his association with the DDOA’s Delaware Artist Roster, the Wilmington String Ensemble contracting organization, and Arts In Media LLC.

A past recipient of an Individual Artist Fellowship in music composition from the Delaware Division of the Arts, as well as a 2010 DDOA Opportunity Grant, Chris’ original works include three pieces for the award-winning chamber ensemble, Mélomanie, as well as a string quartet, solo guitar music, and numerous compositions and arrangements for his own groups.

Chris has been interviewed by publications such as El Tiempo Hispano, Artline, The News Journal and Delaware Today, and has appeared numerous times on local radio and television. He graduated from the University of Delaware, where he studied with Christiaan Taggart and received his Bachelor of Music Degree in classical guitar performance.

Chris teaches exclusively through The Music School of Delaware, where he serves as master faculty and head of the Guitar and Studio Departments, as well as coordinator for the Cultural Crossroads Series and director of four student ensembles.
